About Quest

How it works:

  1. Purchase your test online at Quest.
  2. Choose between in-person testing, in-home sample collection, a home collection kit, and an at-home test. Certain tests may be unavailable at-home testing.
  3. Register your test & schedule your appointment at one of Quest's 2,000+ locations. Follow instructions post purchase to schedule an appointment or receive an at-home testing collection kit.
  4. Once collection and testing is done, receive your results online or via email.

You can discuss your results with an independent healthcare provider at no extra cost.

Most tests offer several collection types — in person, in-home sample collection, a home collection kit, or an at-home test. Available options are shown when you select a test, and the exact steps vary slightly by type.

In-home sample collection, where available, carries an additional fee at checkout. In-home collection is available for ages 18+.

FSA and HSA eligibility

Lab testing is often an eligible medical expense. Diagnostic lab testing ordered to diagnose, monitor, or screen for a medical condition generally qualifies as an eligible medical expense under IRS Section 213(d). Quest Health accepts FSA and HSA cards at checkout, the same way many medical providers do.

Eligibility notice

Quest does not determine FSA or HSA eligibility for individual tests. Eligibility is determined by your FSA or HSA plan administrator and may vary by plan. buyFSA does not certify the eligibility of Quest tests. If you're unsure whether a specific test qualifies under your plan, check with your plan administrator before purchase.

Service fees

Quest charges an independent physician service fee starting at $6, collected by PWNHealth at checkout, for healthcare provider oversight of your order. This fee is separate from the test price and may also be an eligible medical service fee, depending on your plan. Some tests qualify for an at-home collection which is subject to an additional $79 charged by Quest Health.

Using your FSA or HSA card at Quest

Quest accepts FSA and HSA cards at checkout as long as they function as a standard credit or debit card. Quest does not determine FSA or HSA eligibility for individual tests — that determination is made by your plan administrator.

If you're unsure whether a specific test qualifies under your plan, contact your benefits administrator before you purchase.
