Good BUT it's MADE for a GIANT

I REALLY want to LOVE this but I am a small, short person and this is obviously made for a giant. However, with practice and use of a yoga mat or non-slip pad, I can use this effectively. The effect is amazing and I don't feel the need to go to a chiropractor or massage as often "I need to save that money for other things. I highly recommend for posture as well as pain issues. I just wish it was smaller.

Definitely great for acupressure!

Everyone's neck and shoulders won't fit on it but maybe it will work.

Love this!

If you love deep massage and acupressure you will LOVE THIS!!It gets deep into the sore spots and you can wiggle to manuever it for a self deep massage on your neck and shoulders . Just relaxing on it works great to relieve my neck amd shoulder muscles. I use this when I get a migraine and it helps .

Seems really great!

I haven't had a lot of chances to use it yet, but overall it seems really great and I like how firm the acupressure knobs are. I think this is really going to help me with my migraines!

did not like it at first, but it grew on me. quite 'squishy' flexible, good for beginners

I normally use the hard plastic-type if neck stretcher that my acupuncturist recommended. So, I was at first, put off by the soft squishy feel of this product. However, as luck would have it, I had a very minor pull of a neck/trap muscle when using my normal stretcher, and was thankful to have this 'more gentle' version while I heal up. Of course, to get a similar effect, you can also lay on a bed or table and relax your neck while holding it with a towel. But I think this is probably safer. given the flexibility and squishyness, I would say this is great for beginners and people, like myself, who have minor injuries.the price is high, so I could not give this product 5 stars.

The First One That Can Get In There

This review is for the Kanjo Flex Firm Acupressure Neck Pain Relief Cushion - Adjustable Cervical Traction Cushion & Pressure Point Device for Muscle Tension & Relaxation - Helps Relieve Neck & Shoulder Pain and HeadachesThis is the first cushion that I have found that can really get in there. I know there are some who will not like it for the exact same reason, it gets in there. For those few, that is why the old standard non extending nub cushions exist. This is new. Its for those that the other things were basically worthless. This is the only one I have found that can release in between my shoulder blades. And its purple.

Painful

I tried it with and without the insert for firmness and both ways and a hundred different positions it didn't matter.... it hurts! Not sure about the pressure point issue but it really hurt my neck and shoulders. My son tried it and he was little more tolerant than I was but even he was uncomfortable. My daughter tried it and again same results - uncomfortable and a bit painful. The material used is sorta soft but not pliable. Not a fan of this item.

Much Better Then Expected. Works!

I wasn't sure what to expect with this. I've tried other products like this with mixed results. I'm happy to report this one works. I have arthritis in my upper shoulders and neck area and this gave me some nice relief. The ridges you see in the photo are good and strong. The cushion itself is not cheaply made by any means so it should last for a long time. In my second photo, I show the instructions that came with it. They are fairly basic but give some ideas on how to use the cushion. Unfortunately, I still have arthritis, but in the few days I've used this, I have definitely gotten some relief and that is exactly what the product is designed to do and it delivers. I've already started to look forward to using it at the end of the day. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I have broad shoulders and it takes some adjustment to get it in the right position. I don't think most people would have this issue, but it keeps it from being the perfect cushion. Anyway, I do like it and recommend it. It helps!

Doesn't work for me

I've got a slew of neck/shoulder/spine problems, including herniation, cord compression, arthritis, scoliosis, disc degeneration, and spasticity from a neurological disease. I have four other foam neck-stretchers that offer varying degrees of relief. Unfortunately, I couldn't get this one to work for me!I'll start by saying, this seems to be "well-made," in the sense that the materials are good and the craftsmanship is good. It's molded from firm but flexible foam with a smooth, "wipe-clean" vinyl coating. Mine arrived with no chemical odors. The problem seems to be that the shoulder "knobs" are too high/tall to allow the neck to curve backwards. Even though they are made of flexible foam, it was too painful for me to rest my shoulders against them for more than a minute, and my neck made zero contact with the "knobs" for the neck area. It was just the shoulder knobs pushing me away from the rest of the device. The result was highly un-therapudic!It's a bummer, because I definitely have some trigger points on my shoulder blades in the general area of the knobs and I REALLY wanted to find a way to make this work, but nope.I tried this different ways. I tried turning it around the other direction. I tried it with and without the small insert (this tucks into the underside to increase/decrease the amount of "firmness" of the device overall). I tried sliding further up or further down. I just couldn't find any position where it could work for my body.I'll add that I'm a small person, only 5'1". I don't know if this is better for a really large person or not. I just know it didn't work for me.This comes with a user's manual that features helpful instructions, including pictures

Feels like broken concrete

9/27/21~ Just can't get comfortable on this thing.Even taking out the "Firm" insert, my head just can't relax. If you don't get it under your neck so your head is hanging off the back,The points dig like jagged rocks in your shoulders. The double edged sword here is, when you do get it to the right spot,it's wonderful relief but it's a fleeting fantasy that you can hold that position.Bc inevitably gravity causes you to slip when you relax & the spikes are back. The Good news is, if you're someone who loves firm, with the insert, Kanjo's "cushion" feels like concrete. Absolutely no give.I'm sure someone will love this but I'm going back to KTape & the Teeter.

Painful but it works

If you have never used something like this before, it will feel incredibly painful at first. As soon as I put my neck on it I jumped right back up thinking there is noway I can use this thing. I decided to try it again and focused on my breathing instead of the pain. After about 5 minutes my muscles started pulsing and the blood flow warmed up my neck giving me immediate relief. Before I used this I had an intense neck pain and headache, after using it for 15 minutes the pain was completely gone! I used it right before bedtime and slept like a baby after that.

ONE SIZE DOESN'T FIT ALL....

Overall I would say this is a good product. It did take some time for shipping but it was packaged well and arrived in good condition. Both my husband and myself tried this accupressure neck cushion with different results. He is a tall and muscular man, so the accupressure points fit his head differently than it did mine. He found the firmness more pleasureable but didn't find any pain relieving actions from this unit. I on the other hand, felt that the unit contured my head nicely and offered both supportive and pleasureable release from resting on this unit for a short period of time. For those who tried with less than optimal results, perhaps starting with just a few minutes and build with time and tolerance.

Helps release tensions and knots

This neck cushion works pretty well for me. It helps release the tension and knots in the neck muscles. The cushion has spikes of different heights and sizes that do the trigger point massages. It is made of some sort of sturdy foam, firm but gives a bit of way when hard pressed. This gives the spikes enough pressure to the job without being too sharp. That being said, it does hurt a lot if you aren't in the right position. I have to orientate my neck just right over the cushion before fully resting on it.I like that this cushion has a removeable spacer underneath to adjust the overall "firmness" of the cushion. For the most part, I have to remove it in order to get a relief without hurting too much. With the spacer in place, the cushion is pretty hard and can really hurt.Overall, this is a decent neck cushion. It does a decent job of providing the relief for my neck pain. I like that it is adjustable. The pointy spikes on it can really hurt, so you'll need to experiment and find the right trigger point locations for your neck. Anyway, it works pretty well for me and does provide some relief. Worth giving it a try.

Ouch!

I had high hopes for this neck pain relief cushion, but it just doesn't work for me. It is well made and seems like it's a high quality. I wasn't quite sure how many stars to give it, since the quality is good. It just doesn't work for me at all. I am a slender, short woman and perhaps this item wasn't designed for people my size. I found this cushion very painful to use. I don't think it fit my neck and shoulders properly.

Relieve neck tension

This cushion is made of durable foam, flexible and cushiony. It is designed with the shape fitting the natural curve of our necks. There are acupuncture points on the cushion, stimulating pain or tension spots on the neck, and offering excellent acupuncture therapy effect. The insert along with this cushion is very useful. It is a separate piece, can be put underneath the main piece, to make the cushion firmer, and can also be removed when not in use, to make the cushion more flexible. It is effective relieving my neck pains and tensions. My neck is more relaxed after the therapy.

Gets between shoulder blades too......

This is the cousin, or sibling of the:Kanjo Flex Firm Acupressure Neck Pain Relief Cushion - Adjustable Cervical Traction Cushion & Pressure Point Device for Muscle Tension & Relaxation - Helps Relieve Neck & Shoulder Pain and Headaches....which I previously reviewed and is available here at Amazon. On the product page, it is the purple one, shown to the right of the blue one, priced at $49.99.For some reason, when I go to post this review, my previous review is coming up; this review is for the blue model which as of this review date is selling for $49.99.....Much of what I said in that review applies here: I used and will most likely continue using this on my bed, pillow tossed aside, just flat on the mattress where my pillow goes. This is, firm. As I said, I used it on my mattress, so if you are on the floor or just a mat on the floor, it's gonna be FIRM. Really, start out on your mattress (just my 2 cents).Contrasting this to the purple one, this one has a bit more movement, which is due to the adjustable nature of the neck piece and the height adjusting plates. The neck, "cradle" lets call it, sits higher on this one than on the purple one; not that the purple one is too low; this one's just higher (I will still use them both). When you add the adjustment "plates" to this, there is a bit more movement of the neck piece, where with the purple one, there is no movement. Not that it wobbles badly or anything, but it does move a bit. The trade off for the extra height may be worth it/important to you, to allow those "nub" thingys to dig in even deeper. The shape and size of the "nub" thingys looks exactly the same to me, between the two.One thing I didn't mention in the other review is the smell of the foam.To me, there is no strong or offensive smell or odor that would make these unattractive to use (yay!).Both this and the PURPLE model referenced above, go down to between the shoulder blades. For me, that helps me relax my shoulders instead of them going up to my ears in a stress/pain response.I don't have headaches and so I can't speak to that, I have tight tense, painful muscles at the back of my neck. This gives a nice but firm passive massage to the neck and, as I said, down between the shoulder blades. You can lie (lay? - whatever) still and feel the benefit or you can gently nod your head up and down and turn ever so slightly side to side and get a more "active" massage.I am thankful for this device and don't see it gathering dust like so many other attempts at a remedy for my issues .This came packaged simply in a clear plastic bag (inside Amazon packaging) which included a brief simple instruction leaflet. Look at that and the product page and you'll be good to go.I hope this review enables you to make an informed purchase decision.(I rarely give an overall 5 star rating).

Pressure point in just the right spot

All the "knobs" hit in just the right spots. Really helped w/ a migraine & neck tension. I found the pressure point in the shoulders give a little massage if I rotated my arms.

Didn't do much for me

I tried it on my neck, and quite honestly I didn't feel it. It really didn't do much for me, except craddle my head. Perhaps if neck pain was super bad, and this is all the adjustment you can endure it might, work, but for me, it was like a neck cushion. Comfortable, but not anything terribly exciting. Srory, I had hopes for it.

Awesome

Love it. Perfect for my aching back and neck. Rigid enough to put the pressure where it is needed and soft enough to not be uncomfortable. Well made and adjustable arch.

A bit uncomfortable, but may offer some relief

I've had neck pain and range of motion issues for a couple years. MRI confirms some issues but my neurologist has been hesitant to offer any medication or exercise suggestions to help. My main neck pain issues occur while trying to sleep.I ordered this item thinking it was a combination of voodoo and salesmanship, but, after using it a few times have decided it may be working. I've been able to sleep without the use of analgesics for a couple of nights. It is difficult for me to get the suggested placement exactly right (frustrating) and during the 15 minute sessions I allow myself, it can be downright uncomfortable. In fairness, the discomfort tends to lessen as the session continues.I'd like to make it perfectly clear that results from items like this are totally subjective and will vary with anatomic and physiologic differences. What works for me may not work for you. I've given this item a 4 star rating based on how it is currently working for me. If I continue to sleep without the need for analgesia I will return and upgrade the star rating. Likewise, worsening of symptoms will cause a reduction in the rating. If you follow the instructions, can position the device as suggested, and tolerate the pressure point discomfort, this may be a worthwhile purchase. If you are currently undergoing medical therapy for your condition, please speak with your health professional before purchasing.

like this model the best

I have this same thing except it has adjustable height. That was good for me but this is better. When i have a headache, the other one is too hard and painful. This one I just remove the u set support for a much softer and most comfortable stretch. My husband loved the other one because he is tall and needs more height.

Effective and easy to use

I'm really impressed with this acupressure neck cushion. It does a pretty nice job of relieving neck pain and removing knots in the neck. It is comfortable and easy to use. The foam material is pretty sturdy and yet slightly compressible in order to provide sufficient cushioning on the trigger point spikes. It is easy to wipe clean after use as well. The build quality is pretty decent as well. The cushion measures about 7" x 12" with a minimum height of 4", which is adjustable by using one or both of the spacers provided. I like that those spacers are stowed away in the recessed space under the cushion. They are right there when you need them. They won't get misplaced elsewhere neither. The neck pillow and the spacers are all keyed to the base cushion in one specific orientation, so you can't install them wrong.I have put the cushion into use a couple of times so far and it is amazing. It helps stretch the neck and get the muscles to relax. It provides effective acupressure and trigger point massage. It is firm enough to do the job and yet soft enough not to hurt yourself by accident. Overall, I'm very pleased with it. It works great for me. It feels so good after a short session. I would recommend giving it a try.

My whole family loves it and it releases tension of our necks due to computer uses.

The neck pain relief cushion is nicely made and the foam material feels durable. The acupressure points are soft, but they deliver good acupressure pressure at the right spots. The outer layer seems to be waterproof, so I can actually spray alcohol on the surface for sanitization after I share it with my kids. They all said it helped for their neck pain too. Great value for the whole family. The spikes work very well on my neck when I placed them at the right spots. They loosened the knots in the muscles on both sides. It is effective and it is easy to use. Fast pain relief and good for me due to long computer use at work.
