The HealthCraft Assista-Rail™ is a bed rail that provides bedside support for repositioning and for getting in and out of bed. It is certified to ASTM F3186-17, the standard specification for adult portable bed rails under FDA jurisdiction, and installs without tools.

Directions

Assembly and installation (no tools required)

  1. Attach the side tubes to the back tube, then the upright tubes to the side tubes until each locks.
  2. Slide the handle onto the uprights, set the height, align the holes and insert the locking pin.
  3. Optional: attach the bedside organizer with its straps and snap button.
  4. While lying in bed, note your waist position. Slide the rail between the box spring and mattress at that position.
  5. Loop the safety strap around the bed frame and tighten so the rail sits snugly against the side of the bed.

  • Failure to follow the manufacturer's instructions could result in serious injury or death.
  • WARNING – PATIENT ENTRAPMENT: There is a potential risk of entrapment (limb, neck, head, torso) between the bed rail and adjacent items such as the mattress, headboard or side tables. Position the rail at a distance considerably smaller or larger than one that could result in entrapment, and account for changes such as mattress compression, user movement or bed position changes.
  • This product is not a physical restraint or barrier to exiting the bed.
  • Maximum user weight 300 lbs. Product is not intended to support full body weight.
  • Intended for moderate vertical load bearing only. Not intended for sideward (lateral) support.
  • Use only with bed casters locked.
  • Not for use on electric or hospital-style beds, or with lightweight mattresses. The mattress must fully cover the base frame.
  • Not intended for children to play on or hang from.
  • When changing bed linens, confirm the rail is still installed correctly.
  • HealthCraft's warranty does not cover damage from improper installation or third-party services, and HealthCraft's liability is limited to the purchase price of the product.
